Mar 6, 2007 · MK 3 Fuel Gauge. When full of diesel it will eventually leap off of empty and hit 3/4 of a tank and slowly register back up to full. When i get to about 190 miles on the trip (back to 3/4 of a tank ish?) it will then drop to empty again (somtimes for the next 50 odd miles will jump from empty and 3/4 or even half if on a motorway).

There are two parts to the sensor, one on the subframe secured with two rivets, this is linked via a pivoting rod to a second unit riveted to the lower arm. The unit controls the auto levelling on xenon headlights.

I bought a mk3 Mondeo in January which has just developed a fault. was driving home accelerating through 5th gear (3400rpm) and the glow start light started flashing and a slight loss in power. got it home which was about another 2 miles and switched it off then back on again the flashing had stopped
